College football is just as good as the NFL
March 6, 2017
Recruiters over in the United States of America will lead you to believe that the National Football League is the holy grail of the gridiron. No matter where you go in life or what program you choose to sign with, the end goal will always and should always be the NFL – but we’re here to pretty much debunk that theory entirely.
Yes, we’re the party poopers that all your friends hate. College football is a long-standing tradition in which some of the finest American footballers that we’ve ever seen have plied their trade. Some were destined for greatness, meanwhile others fought their way to the top, but it doesn’t matter what route they took because the important thing is that they succeeded.
Essentially, what we’re saying is that you shouldn’t sleep on the wonders of college football because more often than not, it’s actually an improvement on the typical NFL game.

FNC vs Misfits – Elise Jungle x2
During Fnatic’s comprehensive series defeat at the hands of the newly promoted Misfits roster, fans were left baffled as Amazing picked the Jungler Elise into Ivern. It was evident after the first game in the series that Amazing’s Elise – building full damage and coupled with an assassin in the mid lane – was going to make little headway against the damage mitigating Ivern on the enemy team. Yet despite the appalling outcome of the first game, NicoThePico drafted the exact same composition once more, unsurprisingly achieving the same result.
Man, college fans are mad. The tailgate parties provide a mixture of veteran supporters and students themselves, which allows for a nice variety of opinions throughout the sport. Plus, they're all absolutely mad. Image Source: Twitter
FNC vs Splyce – Malzahar Mid
Nico seemingly threw away the drafting rule book and attempted to reinvent the wheel in the second and third games. Despite global recognition as a “must-ban”, Fnatic opted to leave the LeBlanc power pick on the table for Splyce, instead flexing Malzahar from support to the mid lane: Innovative… but certainly not effective. Naturally, LeBlanc ran amuck and Splyce were given an open door back into the series.
The National Championship game is one of the biggest nights of the year and that's something that never fails to be true. Whether it's Ohio State vs Oregon or Clemson gaining retribution with a second remaining against Alabama, you're guaranteed to see an absolute showstopper. Image Source: Twitter
FNC vs Splyce – Kled Top
In the decisive game of the series, Top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer unveiled an unexpected Kled pick, showing a lack of respect to the opposition. As Splyce’s high damage composition scaled, the tankless Fnatic were left picking up the pieces of yet another series of disastrous picks and bans.
FNC vs Vitality – Camille Mid
In a gold rush to snatch the 'OP picks' that had slipped through the draft phase, Nico drafted Camille as a flex pic into the Mid lane. Vitality responded with the 100% picked or banned LeBlanc... the outcome was inevitable.

Naturally we aren’t expecting the legions of NFL fans to agree with this, but if you do in fact fall into that category then we’d like to give you some advice. Take a trip down to your local college side’s first game of next season, order a beer, then sit back and enjoy the show. The odds are that you’ll have a hell of a lot more fun than you would at an NFL clash.
