If you’re looking to kill an hour and 47 minutes watching Team Liquid implode before your very eyes, then the HTC sponsored eSports movie, Breaking Point fits the bill. Alongside the NA LCS team’s popular reality TV series, ‘Rebirth’, HTC commissioned the movie ahead of Liquid’s start to the Season 6 Summer Split – the footage caught on camera makes for nothing short of a horror show.
Team Liquid have had their problems, well-publicised to their fans and the wider League of Legends community, and after witnessing the behind the scenes footage from the debacle that was their Summer split, it’s easy to see why their ambitions of reaching the 2016 World Championship disintegrated once again.
Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, former Jungler for Team Liquid has always been a divisive character. The spring Rookie of the Split polarised public opinion after frequent public outbursts on social media and numerous disciplinary problems. Dardoch’s abilities on the rift were clear for all to see… but sadly, so were his off-stage indiscretions.
Breaking Point certainly doesn’t shower Dardoch in glory, though the same could certainly be said for Team Liquid coach, Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-sub and AD Carry, Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin. The feud that develops between Locodoco and star player, Dardoch becomes difficult to watch as Hartnett’s dream of competing at Worlds evaporates – there’s no love lost between these two, in fact, the hate is palatable.
In case you haven’t got a spare two hours of your life to endure two immature League of Legends hotheads slinging slurs at one another, coupled with some entertaining, passive aggressive interviews – here’s what we learnt from Team Liquid’s Breaking Point:

Claustrophobic Korean Bootcamp
Living on top of one another cannot be healthy, to describe Team Liquid's bootcamp as having a toxic environment would be an understatement.
Dardoch Vs The Koreans
Dardoch and the Korean members of Liquid (FeniX and Piglet) struggled to get along in a professional environment.
Dardoch accused Locodoco of giving the Koreans preferential treatment.
Matt Is The Only Adult On The Team
With the Korean Bootcamp falling apart around him, Matt is the only member of the roster to show a level of maturity.
Dardoch Vs Locodoco
With Team Liquid's Summer Split going down the pan - team owner, Steve Arhancet was forced to step to stop the pair 'burning' one another.
Locodoco Has Serious Anger Issues
Watching Piglet throw away Team Liquid's best chance of winning the NA LCS Spring Split sparked a wild response from Locodoco.
Dardoch’s Arrogance Is Off The Scale
Dardoch's frustrations are understandable, but it's no excuse for such a demoralising public shaming of his teammates. He rages like an angry solo queue player...
Piglet Quits Because Of Dardoch
Listening to Dardoch announce that he was about to intentionally feed in an LCS game was the final straw for Piglet, who then announced he would be joining the Challenger squad.
Piglet Is Incredibly Immature
His reasons for dropping down the Challenger scene are understandable, but his appalling attitude makes it hard to sympathise for the former SK Telecom T1 World Champion.
FeniX Looks Certain To Leave
FeniX may as well be an extra in this movie, reflective of his sub-par performance last season. He shirks responsibility and looks set to leave the team.
David Is Liquid’s Best Hope
With the unprofessional Locodoco out of the door, the former Team Liquid Academy coach is set to replace him. Throughout 'Breaking Point', David's coaching is the one shining light.
