LEAKED: Echo Fox Have Formed The Most Random Roster The LCS Has Ever Seen

Rick Fox isn’t messing around this season – after a year of sitting at the foot of the NA LCS, the former basketball star is ready to construct a roster that can propel Echo Fox into World Championship contention. It’s a shame that the excitement for Echo Fox’s 2017 roster had to start with a leak from AD Carry Yuri “KEITHMCBRIEF” Jew – nevertheless, what emerged was one of the single most random roster line-ups the League of Legends world has ever seen.

Imagine a team with three different native languages, a World Champion Korean import and a Mid laner playing Support – that’s Echo Fox in a nutshell.

In a leaked Skype conversation between Echo Fox AD Carry Keith and ‘former’ Immortals Mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park, the pair were recorded discussing the future of the FOX line-up. Rick Fox has been on a mad one.

The leaked Echo Fox roster reads as follows:

  • Top: Jang “Looper” Hyeong-seok
  • Jungle: Lucas “Santorin” Larsen
  • Mid: Henrik “Froggen” Hansen
  • Support: Eugene “Pobelter” Park
  • AD Carry: Yuri “KEITHMCBRIEF” Jew

Rick Fox, for all his enthusiasm for the NA LCS, has compiled a Frankenstein’s monster of a League of Legends team – this roster looks like a joke that has become a haunting reality, a budget fantasy squad brought to life.

Looper, as part of the Samsung White team that stormed to a World Championship victory before the great Korean exodus, is undoubtedly talented. His mechanics cannot be flawed, though they ultimately count for very little without a means to communicate with his teammates.

Santorin, though experienced at the top end of the NA LCS and on a World Championship stage, is not known for his Korean language skills. The former Team SoloMid Jungler was, perhaps unfairly, tagged as the team’s mobile ward for Mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg during his time with the reigning champions.

As one of the most demanding and selfish players in the North American game, Froggen will likely expect Santorin to fill into the submissive role once more. It doesn’t evoke a synergistic relationship between Jungler and Mid laner.

As an AD Carry, you are almost entirely reliant on your support – the best duo lanes in the World spend years getting in sync with one another, fine tuning every aspect of their play. Echo Fox’s bottom lane feels more like a ranked queue special, where ‘Autofill’ is enabled and dumps your Mid lane main into Support.

NA’s best Mid laner, Pobelter appears to be willing to transition into the support role alongside KEITHMCBRIEF to play on the Echo Fox roster. That really is random…

In his excitement to become the next North American World Championship seed, Rick Fox has amalgamated a disaster of a roster. A Korean with no grasp of the English language, two Europeans in the Mid and Jungle whose best days are long behind them, an AD Carry with erratic performances, and America’s best Mid laner… playing support.

If Rick was picking his Fantasy LCS squad he might’ve have formed a halfway decent roster, but watching these names take to the stage under the Echo Fox banner will be like watching an expensive car crash in slow motion.
