Want to know what the greatest consolation prize of all-time is?
16-year-old Andrew Orischak didn’t win the U.S. Junior Amateur on Saturday, but he still came out a winner. A big winner. Orischak is getting a prom date with Fox Sports broadcaster Holly Sonders.
During the broadcast of Orischak’s quarterfinal match, Sonders said the golfer’s dad helped set up a bet that would have her accompany him to next year’s prom if he were to win the tournament.
Orischak, who will be a senior at Hilton Head Island High School in Hilton Head, S.C., next year, told The Island Packet: “If I’m feeling a little tired, I just think Holly at prom.”
With a five-hole lead in the final, it looked as though Orischak could start picking out the boutonniere and order the stretch limo. However, he lost five of the remaining eight holes before dropping the extra hole to Philip Barbaree.
But Sonders sent out the following tweet after the tough loss:

To quote what every other high school senior guy is probably thinking, “You lucky S.O.B.”
