Rory McIlroy Makes Ace On 16th Hole During Practice Round At Augusta
Rory McIlroy, who is looking to become just the sixth player to complete the career grand slam by claiming a first green jacket this week, holed out with a seven iron from 170 yards. He was playing a match against Chris Wood today during the practice round at Augusta and finished it off on the 16th hole with that ace and a 3&2 to end it.
“I don’t think I have ever heard a roar that large in a practice round,” the four-time major winner said of the reaction from the crowd. “It was great. It was a nice practice round and a bit of a highlight. And it ended the match as well.
McIlroy has been struggling a bit this season and opted out of the Par 3 contest to prepare for this week. He also came out with a Nike commercial that shows his daily routine that gets him pumped and ready. It looks like both have payed off.
“I played well. I feel like my game is in good shape.”
Could Rory be the next Masters winner?? That ace sure makes me think so.
