Ask almost any defender in world football which team’s attack they would least fancy coming up against, Barcelona’s would surely be up there, in the top one. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are probably the most-feared attacking tridents on Earth.
Depending on your allegiances in the age-old Messi/Ronaldo debate, the Argentinian is the best player in the world, while Suarez is arguably the most lethal finisher and Neymar has the trickery to give any defender the mother of all nightmares.
But how do they fare when they are subjected to the torture they regularly impose on defenders?
Well, they were back in training after the international break and forced to test out their defensive capabilities in the ‘Rondo’ drill, with all of their team-mates passing around and through them, leaving them helpless.
They got somewhat humiliated, too.
Now, quickly on an aside, take notice of Aleix Vidal desperately trying to get in on the fun towards the end, but everyone just ignores him. Bless.
But anyway, where were we…
Seeing such incredible footballers helplessly flounder around like that with a group of gaggling team-mates showing no remorse with their incessant roaring makes me feel a little better about my existence, to be honest.
Even they – regular Ballon d’Or nominees (and winner) – aren’t great at everything.
But then you see this next video and remember that, really, they are pretty ludicrous human beings.
