The devastating XI Bayern Munich could field on the opening day

Bayern Munich have dominated German football for a number of years now but the Bavarian giants have struggled to show the full extent of their might on the European stage- unless you’re Arsenal, of course.

Bayern’s last victory in Europe’s elite competition came in the all-German final at Wembley in 2013, where a Bayern side led by Jupp Heynckes sealed victory over arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund. Since then, though, the situation has been a lot different.

Not only have Bayern struggled to compete on the European stage, they also face new threats domestically as the meteoric rise of RB Leipzeig and a sensational season from Hoffenheim has given them new rivals in the Bundesliga – but Bayern have already shown they’re not messing around in the transfer window.

If that’s not bad enough, Bayern can also call upon the likes of Thomas Muller, Arturo Vidal, Renato Sanches, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez- whilst they always have young players ready to step up.

It may look like the sort of super-team you’ll assemble playing career mode on FIFA but this is genuinely how Bayern could set themselves up next season. We should just scrap the Bundesliga season altogether and hand the title over now, there’s no stopping this team!

Of course, the major challenge will be conquering Europe and the might of Real Madrid stand in their way. On the face of it though, Carlo Ancelotti may have a better all-round team at his disposal.
