Pulis looking to buy Rodriguez (and then remove all of his attacking instincts)

Tony Pulis should’ve been sacked for West Bromwich Albion’s end to the season; after reaching 40 points on the 25th February – a 2-1 home win against Bournemouth – the Baggies then ended the season claiming just five more points from the remaining 12 games.

An underwhelming 10th place finish wasn’t enough for the Baggies to want to do more than just ‘exist’ in the top flight, so Pulis and his archaic ways remain.

And the latest creative, attacking player that Tony Pulis will look to mould into a bruising battering ram is reportedly Southampton’s, Jay Rodriguez.

A £12million bid is what the Baggies have offered for the services of the England international, and given the transfer fees nowadays, that doesn’t seem to shabby for a proven Premier League goalscorer.

If the transfer does go ahead, though, Saints fans – and the person who replaces the recently sacked Claude Puel – will be asking who exactly makes the call whens it comes to buying and selling.

A troubled couple of seasons with injuries, but J-Rod would offer the shot-shy Saints – only the teams who finished in the bottom five scored less than Southampton in the league, last season – a real outlet.

Also, does Rodriguez, a player looking to pique Gareth Southgate’s attention, really believe a place where Gareth McAuley was second scorer with seven goals, is the place for an attacker to thrive?!
