After finishing as the runner-up at last year’s U.S. Open, Dustin Johnson was able to finish like the amazing golfer he is and take home the trophy this year.
Not only did he get a gold medal, a trophy and his first major champion title, he also received $1.8 million dollars in winnings!
After 276 shots, including the controversial one, DJ made an insane $6,521.73 per stroke. This doesn’t include all of the sponsorship money he’ll be making from Taylormade, Adidas, Net Jets and numerous others.
The total U.S. Open purse came to a whopping $1o million dollars with the top 23 players making over $100,000 dollars. Everyone made a decent amount of money that Sunday because even the golfers who didn’t make the cut made $4,000 each.
