Can someone explain to me what a travel is in the NBA? I was under the impression that you were allowed two steps, not three or four or five, just two. Is any other basketball fan completely appalled by what’s not considered a travel anymore?
The league needs to get this infraction under control because it’s getting comical. I mean, players are literally walking with the basketball now. I get that people want to see more scoring and sick moves, but this is the NBA, not the AND-1 Street Tour where travel, and/or carrying, is non-existent. It’s not even fair for theses so called “refs,” to even call a travel. How in the world do they even have the balls to blow the whistle?
This Kendrick Perkins video just proves that refs hardly look at a players feet, or position on the floor. How do you not realize someone moving back five feet, from the free throw line to the top of the key, without ever dribbling the ball?
Even the greatest player in the game, LeBron James, travels. And let me tell you something, that dude travels a lot! He just gets away with it because he’s LeBron James. I wonder if he even realizes he’s doing it? I would love to sit with him and watch the video of him traveling in Game 2 of the 2015 NBA Finals because he wanted a foul against Andre Igoudala. Would he agree with the no foul call after watching his travel not get called?
I’m waiting for the day the NBA allows the best refs in college to call a game, but that will never happen. Not only will travels be called, superstars won’t get all the calls, and the game will be refereed the right way. Fans will actually get to see a real basketball game being played.
It’s just absurd what the league allows these players to get away with. Come on Adam Silver, clean up the game! Call travels!
