During a talk radio interview, former WWE Champion Triple H told a story about how President-elect believe McMahon had been killed in a skit.
Like all good politicians, and especially presidents, you need to have been involved in at least a few ridiculous WWE skits. However, even being a part of a ‘feud’ with WWE owner Vince McMahon, he still came away thinking that at a minimum, some of the story lines were real.
Back in 2007 during an episode of RAW, Vince McMahon was ridiculed and beaten by his wrestlers. At the end he struggled into his limousine, which then exploded into flames as the show ended.
According to Triple H, a number of people were fooled by the skit. Now anyone who has watched professional wrestling knows that all kinds of insane things happen throughout the year, only to be reversed. The Undertaker has died several times, people have been buried alive, been forced to retire then return, and so on.
But maybe if you haven’t followed the WWE, you could get tricked that first time. Well if you have been a part of these outlandish video segments, then surely they can’t in turn fool you. Especially considering everything on RAW isn’t ‘live’ but slightly delayed. Would they really show the exploded limo of McMahon had it been real?
Now for this particular one the WWE did go the extra mile by putting out a press release that Vince had actually died. Again though, this is WWE.
Back in 2008, Triple H appeared on the talk radio show “Opie and Anthony” when he was asked about how that skit fooled people.
He’d probably be mad at me for saying it, but, like — Trump called and was like, ‘Did something happen to Vince?’
Typically, we wouldn’t get a response from an eight year old YouTube clip, especially when given by a pro wrestler. But with his Twitter account still active and in his control, we could see the 45th President of the United States refute the claim. After all, he is a WWE Hall of Famer.
