Almost anyone who has watched the NFL during the last few years is well aware of the talent that New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. displays on the field each and every week. The guy is not even 25 years old yet and he might already have the greatest catch in NFL history.
But while Beckham has been busy making jaw dropping catches out on the football field, someone else in his family is working toward making it big in a totally different industry.
The cousin of the Giants receiver, Terron Beckham, recently revealed that he has been in contact with the WWE about starting a career in professional wrestling. He recently told TMZ Sports that the company has emailed him about a possible tryout in the near future.
Some may remember Terron from when he had a tryout with the New York Jets back in May. But unfortunately, the Jets decided not to sign the 24-year-old to any sort of contract.
The thoughts after his tryout in New York were that he was going to continue to train and hopefully land another opportunity in the league somewhere. But apparently Beckham has not had much luck with his goal to play in the league, hence the reason for his shift in career choice.
He certainly has the physique and the look that the WWE usually looks for in a potential superstar. Beckham’s size at 5’11, 230 pounds is somewhat comparable to current WWE Superstar John Cena, who is listed at 6’1, 251 pounds.
If he were able to make it into a WWE ring, Beckham would not be the first person to make it with the company after a failed attempt in the NFL. Bill Goldberg, Mojo Rawley, Baron Corbin, Roman Reigns, and Vader all spent time in the league before stepping inside the squared circle.
Perhaps Beckham will become the latest to make the transition and if he does, hopefully there are no storylines written for him that involve falling in love with a kicking net.
