Dion Waiters knocks down incredible game winner to beat the Warriors

In case you didn’t know, former 4th overall pick Dion Waiters now plays for the Miami Heat. Waiters, arguably the league’s most confident player, pulled up from deep as time expired and sent the NBA’s best team home with an L.

With time running out and the ball in his hands, everyone in the arena knew Dion was taking the last shot. Everyone except Klay Thompson, who gave Waiters just enough space to get the eventual game winner off. Waiters calmly knocked the shot down and proceeded to stunt on the Warriors, as he rightfully should have.

Waiters was on fire throughout the game, so it was only right that the heat check God himself sent the Warriors packing. The Warriors looked to have a case of the South Beach Flu. The city of Miami is known for keeping players out until the early AM. This gives a sneaky home court advantage to a Heat team with no business beating the Warriors. Dion Waiters had this response to any haters, like me who want to any take credit away from him.

Waiters has only been in Miami for half a season, but you have to respect the man’s confidence. It will always be Dwyane Wade’s city, but that night Waiters was the king of South Beach. Waiters may never live up to his potential as a 4th overall pick, but who cares? When he’s feeling it, there are few player in league more fun to watch. Waiters thinks he’s the best player on the court at all times, and nobody will convince him otherwise.

There is no doubt Dion Waiters can get buckets, and on rare occasions even carry a mediocre team to victory. He has not, however, proven he can be a valuable player on a contender. Players change, but I doubt Waiters ever will. He will occasionally have nights like these, but will ultimately shoot his team out of the majority of games. Never say never though, Waiters has the talent to be an impact player. If things don’t work out for him down the road, he can always pull a Stephon Marbury. Go to China average 60 points a game, and become an absolute legend overseas.
