When talking about the greatest single season team in NBA history, it’s fun to reminisce the things they did during that season. And despite not holding the record for most wins in a regular season anymore, we all know 72 just has a better “ring” to it.
Michael Jordan and the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls might not have had the “Blues Brothers” on their team, but there is no doubt they were on a mission from God. But that was then, and this is now. So let’s take a look at the roster and where they’re at now?
Michael Jordan wore his own shorts…from college
Michael Jordan famously wore his University of North Carolina shorts under his Chicago Bulls shorts in every NBA game. You can’t argue with the results.
Jason Terry wore his opponent’s shorts
Get in the opponent’s head, or at the very least, into his shorts. Jason Terry had a pair of uniform shorts from every NBA team. The night before playing a team he would sleep in their shorts. Not really sure what this accomplished. (Photo source/Wikimedia)

Vlad had his teammates defile hishelmet
Adept slugger Vladimir Guerrero’s helmet was always a god-awful mess. How does one turn a pristine plastic surface into a dirt-and-pine-tar covered abomination? Why, you place it on the dugout floor prior to games and encourage your teammates to spit and kick dirt on it, then coat that mess with pine tar. (Photo source/Wikimedia)
Serena Williams wears the same socks all tournament
How many matches do you play if you win Wimbledon? Like seven? How many hours of activity is that? Well, imagine wearing the same pair of socks the entire time. Pretty raunchy? Right? Well, that’s exactly what Serena Williams does: Never change her socks during a tournament. (Photo source/Wikimedia)
…Wayne Gretzky too
The Great One’s great weirdness has been well documented. Gretzky put on his uniform in the same order every game and drank Diet Coke, ice water, and Gatorade ahead of each game in a particular order. He also applied baby powder to the blade of his stick prior to the game. (Photo source/Wikimedia)
Caron Butler loved him some Mountain Dew
Caron Butler, who retired last year, was a big fan of Mountain Dew during his playing days. He reportedly drank half of a two-liter prior to the game and, disgustingly enough, drank the second half during half time. He also loved to chew on McDonald’s straws during games. No word on whether he drank the Dew with the straw.(Photo source/Wikimedia)
Pelle Lindbergh drank beer during games
The first goalie to bring a water bottle with him onto the ice (healthy), Pelle Lindbergh also drank a beer during each intermission (less healthy). He also wore the same shirt under his pads to the point that the shirt had to be repeatedly stitched back together. (Photo source/Wikimedia)
Yes, the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors set the record for most wins in a single season with 73, but they have forever reserved the number two spot for not winning a championship. It’s too bad this team can’t come back to play in today’s league and show these soft players how it’s done.
