No other franchise in baseball, or in all of sportsĀ for that matter, has the history the New York Yankees have. The Bronx Bombers have won 27 World Series titles and are associated with some of the most legendary players in the history of the game. The bottom line is that there’s much to make the Yankees and their fans proud.
Of course, the one caveat of having a franchise with such a long and distinguished history is figuring out who qualifies as one of the all-time greats in the team’s history. When it comes to the Yankees, there’s always vigorous debate about who’s the best at every position. There’s usually little agreement on what players deserve to be included on the list. Nevertheless, here’s our best effort.
#1 – Patriots 34-28 Falcons – SB51
Come on now, was there really ever going to be another winner? Tom Brady solidified himself as the greatest quarterback of all time this year by leading the greatest comeback in the history of the Super Bowl. Recognise greatness, people.

#3 – Patriots 28-24 Seahawks – SB49
To this day Seattle fans are still asking themselves - why on earth didn't we run it? Malcolm Butler's endzone interception won the game for the New England Patriots, in a scenario that seemed impossible to fail from for the team that had lifted the Lombardi Trophy just twelve months prior.

#5 – Saints 31-17 Colts – SB44
One of the worst franchises in the history of the league reaching the top of the mountain. Brees shining. The onside kick to start the second-half. The interception late in the 4th quarter. Magical.

#2 – Steelers 27-23 Cardinals – SB43
This one is a real heartbreaker for Cardinals fans. It seemed as if their fairytale would come true when Larry Fitzgerald scored what appeared to be a Super Bowl-winning touchdown, however Big Ben led his Steelers down the field as he always does and won the game with just seconds remaining.

Jesus, and we thought the NFL stadiums were big. There's at least half-a-dozen to a dozen of them in college football that could warrant hosting a Super Bowl, because they're just that big. It's not just the size either, the atmospheres are always electric. Image Source: Twitter

So, there you have it. Obviously, there’s always an argument in favor of someone who got excluded, but did we get it right? Who do you think is missing from the Yankees all-time greatest roster?
