What do you do when you’re sitting next to the guy who’s about to get fired? It was an awkward day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Thursday when Fernando Alonso was asked how he felt about Red Bull’s now infamous driver swap. All while Daniil Kvyat himself was right there in the room with him. No one could blame him if he’d just stuttered and blurted out something unintelligible. But as it turns out, Alonso is great at being put on the spot. He lightened the tense atmosphere with a joke that had even Kvyat smiling and patting him on the back. Shall we say crisis averted?
