Battling 2-time series champion Matt Crafton over much of the race, Byron finally passed him for good with five laps to go, becoming the youngest Truck Series winner at Texas Motor Speedway. Byron earned the respect of the veteran: “That’s impressive what that kid did,” …Matt Crafton
Byron is fast becoming NASCAR’s newest sensation, despite being only 18 years old and fresh off of his high school graduation. He was already a celebrity at Charlotte’s Country Day School where he wrote about balancing the demands on his time
Will, along with Sprint Cup rookie Chase Elliott, are bringing NASCAR to a whole new generation. Will started his career by winning over 100 races on http://www.iracing.com/. His father then put him in a Legends car before he switched to the K&N late model series. He won the K&N series championship last year which caught the eye of Kyle Busch. Busch put him in one of his Camping World Trucks this year and he’s already notched two wins in just eight starts!
At this rate, Will is going to have to find even more ways to up his balancing game!
