Outright speed is one thing that teams look to their drivers for, but consistency is another. The Brazilian Grand Prix is the most important race of the season, both for the Championship and also Felipe Massa, who makes this list and will be looking to score well on home soil for the final time in F1. With only two races remaining on the 2016 calendar, here are the top 10 drivers who have scored the most points finishes in the 19-races so far…
A few interesting outcomes, especially given that Ricciardo has only missed out on the points once, he is ahead of Hamilton in this table. What isn’t considered is race retirements of course. Had the Malaysian Grand Prix played out without attrition, we’d have a much closer fight between the Silver Arrows. Rosberg currently leads Hamilton by a race win too, this is something Hamilton can overhaul should he win the next two races, that would go a long way to souring Rosberg’s title year stats.

Another surprise is that whilst Felipe Massa hasn’t put in many headline performances, he’s put in a decent shift for Williams this season, making into the top 10 most consistent points finishers ahead of Carlos Sainz (9 points finishes) and Fernando Alonso (7 points finishes). This highlights that consistency is better than singular stand-out performances. Not many would argue that the Brazilian has been more entertaining and attack-minded as Sainz and Alonso.
Interestingly, Massa is only a single point behind Alonso in the standings. His retirement year will surely be made that bit sweeter if he can beat the ex-teammate he was secondary to in his golden years at Ferrari!
