Tony Stewart, the man who has won the USAC Triple crown, the IndyCar Title and three NASCAR Premier Series Championships. He is a benchmark and veteran of the sport who has dedicated his existence to racing.
For more than two-decades, Tony Stewart has been an important part of the paddock. Mobil 1 has given voice to racers across the Motorsport spectrum who recognize Stewart’s achievements in the video below.
On his own legacy, Tony Stewart expresses pride in the continuation of Stewart Racing and the outfit’s ongoing presence at the Nationals, something they’ve been doing for just over a quarter-of-a-century. He also clarified that whilst he is bowing out of NASCAR sprint cup racing, the fire for racing will continue to burn within him. He said,
“I’m still in the racer mode, so ask me about my legacy in 12 months. I may have a whole different opinion then, and the answer will go far beyond Stewart-Haas Racing. With everything we’ve done with the World of Outlaws and USAC, Tony Stewart Racing is on the verge of its 23rd or 24th national championship. Not regional or local championships, but national championships. I’m really proud of what I’ve done as a car owner and what we’ve done at Eldora (Speedway) and what we’ve done in two years with the All Star Circuit of Champions.
There’ll be far more to my legacy than just driving race cars. I think I have a lot of chapters still to write. For a long time to come, I’ll be winning as a car owner and having great events at Eldora and having great car counts with the All Star series. I hope the people who stand up and talk at my funeral have a lot to say because I’ve done a lot of stuff.”
