Haas may have struggled to score regular points throughout 2016, but they were on fire at the start of last season, stunning the grid and succeeding with the best Formula One team debut since the staggering and revolutionary Brawn GP in 2009.
The American team took 18 of their 29 points from the opening two races in Australia and Bahrain with Romain Grosjean putting in some solid performances. Team Principal Guenther Steiner wants a similar start for the upcoming season.
“We will try to do what we did last year but better and hopefully we can have the same if not a better result. To be honest it will be very difficult – I’m aware of that – but if you don’t try then you don’t get.
I would go back to last year and point out that what we did for the first time actually worked very well. Everybody did what they said what they were going to do.”

Grosjean’s new teammate this season is Kevin Magnussen, the Dane is motivated ahead of the opening race at Albert Park in March and added,
“It’s a different feeling coming to a team that wants you and signed you because they think you can deliver something they want.
It’s motivating, there’s no secret it motivates you and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
– Kevin Magnussen
Haas are under less pressure to deliver straight away in comparison to the opening of last season. It was a fairly blind area in Australia last year given that they hadn’t participated in a Grand Prix, they were probably just hoping to get both cars past the checkered flag.
