Mercedes have revealed the W08 at Silverstone today. The car has a really narrow rear and follows the similar principles of other releases so far, with a stacked front-wing and very wide flooring.
The team are aiming to win a fourth Constructors and Drivers title in a row. The recent record that the Silver Arrows have managed to build is unprecedented, and the W08 could indeed be the 2017 challenger that clinches both titles again.
The have three-time World Champion in Lewis Hamilton, who will always be in contention for victory if he gets a whiff. Valtteri Bottas joins the team too after establishing himself as a very fast Formula One driver in his time with Williams. He’s already stated that he isn’t with the team so he can finish second. Mercedes have the driver line-up to compete at the top, the car’s abilities will only really be revealed once testing is concluded.

Hamilton said,
“Yesterday was the first time I saw [the car] together. It is the most detailed piece of machinery I have seen in F1.
This is not an actual test – it’s just a few laps to make sure the car will run. But I was able to go faster in the last couple of laps. It feels almost identical to last year’s car in terms of ergonomics but you have this bigger, more powerful beast around you.”

Valtteri Bottas also added,
“What I really like about it is how clean it looks, but at the same time there’s a massive amount of detail.”

The W08 is definitely a work of art, and you wouldn’t put any dollar against them winning the title again next season.
