Bathurst 6 Hour Poised to Break Record With 66 Official Entries

The Bathurst 6 Hour event is set to break records with an official tally of 66 entries into the event – citing a surge of interest in the event.

There has been a massive surge in the entry list of the Bathurst 6 Hour production car race. This year marks the participation of 17 brands all the way from Renault to MINI. Perhaps others are realising just how valuable having a testbed in the form of Motorsport participation can be. You get to reap in the data while also pushing your brand forward in the eye of the consumer – it’s a win-win.

Though this isn’t the first time that the event has come so close to breaking past 65 participants, but it does mark enough of an occasion for Race Director James O’Brien to crack a warm smile and enjoy the abundant support:

“Whilst we would be delighted to set a record grid for an endurance race at Mount Panorama, the massive growth of the field is the most pleasing aspect. The reaction from Production Car competitors has been outstanding – they have quickly embraced this chance to compete for their own Bathurst victory.” – James O’Brien

The record entry amount for the Bathurst 6 Hour currently stands at 63 cars total. If all of the signups turn into show-ups, we’ll have witnessed Motorsport history being made right in front of us. Whether this is a one-time thing or a promise for further participation in the future is too early to call. Yet whatever there results are like, it will mark a chapter in the event’s history which it is not likely to forget.
