Anytime the WWE makes a stop in Chicago, Illinois, there is almost always one thing that can be counted on to happen. The people in attendance at the arena are going to loudly chant “CM Punk” at least once throughout the night.
Punk, who claims Chicago as his hometown, has not been inside a WWE ring since the Royal Rumble back in January of 2014. But despite his absence, his fans still attend the WWE shows whenever the company makes its way to town and they make their presence known with the constant chants of his name.

“So if you guys could keep that up for about two minutes and 15 seconds, you’d last one second longer than Punk did.”
– Stephanie McMahon to WWE crowd
She is of course referring to the amount of time Punk lasted during his UFC debut back in September against Mickey Gall at UFC 203. The former WWE Superstar was physically dominated by Gall and likely will not be back fighting in the UFC anytime soon.
Her comments may have also killed any rumors of a possible WWE comeback by CM Punk. With the 2017 Royal Rumble coming up, there are no signs that Punk will be taking part in the company’s annual event.
But if his next MMA fight looks anything like his first, he may want to think about making amends with the company that gave him the fame he still holds onto today.
As for Stephanie, her response to the crowd in Chicago just further proves why she is one of the best heels in the WWE today.
