American teen phenomenon Andrew Orischak made headlines when he bet Holly Sonders that if he wins the U.S. Junior, she will have to accompany him to his senior prom next year.
For those that aren’t familiar with Orischak, he is a junior at Hilton Head Island High School who finds himself in the final of the U.S. Junior Championships. With a little added incentive thanks to his bet with Sonders, Orischak is feeling confident heading into his final match against either 17-year-old Philip Barbaree of Shreveport, Louisiana, or 16-year-old Won Jun Lee of South Korea on Saturday.
“That’s a motivation,” Orischak joked. “If I’m feeling a little tired I just think: Holly at prom.”
When asked who made the deal, Fox Broadcaster Holly Sonders said that Orischak’s father helped seal the date. Turns out Andrew was understandably on the shy side.
