What the heck is going on with airlines and lost golf bags these days?
Two weeks ago, it was Graham DeLaet who lost his golf bag ahead of the British Open. After several delays, it finally arrived but a protein powder that was in his bag exploded during the Aer Lingus flight to Edinburgh.
Fast forward to today, and it’s Stacy Lewis who is going through the exact same situation, albeit with a different airline. The Ricoh Women’s British Open at Trump Turnberry Resort is this Thursday-Sunday.
Lewis, the third ranked player in the world, still doesn’t have her golf bag, and is taking to Twitter to vent her frustration at British Airways:
Arrived in Scotland but @British_Airways I need my golf clubs for the @RICOHWomensBrit!

Still no report on my clubs from @British_Airways…

@Stacy_Lewis It seems @British_Airways loses golfer-related luggage on every flight these days. BA was once the gold standard. Sad.

Was just to by @British_Airways to wait 24 hours… Do I need to go to London to get it myself?!

The 30-year-old won the Women’s British Open two years ago at St. Andrews. Let’s hope that Lewis receives her very important cargo sooner rather than later. Let’s also hope that when it does arrive, a bag of protein powder hasn’t exploded all over it either.
