For Englishman Danny Willett, everything came up Milhouse at the European Masters. Thanks to three late birdies on holes 13, 14 and 15 and a totally bogey-free last round of 65, he finished one point ahead of countryman Matthew Fitzpatrick and won the title yesterday. He is the first of three English players filling the top three spots. Tyrell Hatton came in third with 15-under. A good day for Merry Olde England, certainly.

Luckily for Willett, Fitzpatrick harbors no hard feelings. 20-year old Fitzpatrick said he played to win, but the best man came up tops. Well, if we were 20-year old runner-ups to the European Masters title, we suppose we could afford to be forgiving too. Fitzpatrick has taken his loss to Willett as an invaluable lesson for a very long future in golf, we’re inclined to agree.
