Morgan Pressel was struggling Thursday during the opening round of the Ricoh Women’s British Open. Through 13 holes, the 27-year-old was +4 on the day and in bad shape.
But on the par-5 14th hole, Pressel found magic. Pressel had 197 yards left after her tee shot. She hit a flush five-wood that was right on the money. It rolled about twenty feet and found the bottom of the cup for an albatross. The incredible shot moved Pressel to just 1-over par. She finished +2 (74) for her round, nine shots behind leader Hyo Joo Kim.
So what’s the problem? Well, Pressel wasn’t too thrilled that her albatross wasn’t on TV, or anywhere for that matter.
@LPGA @mpressel Wish I had seen it. Any chance it was recorded?

@mpressel – we haven’t seen anything! Wish we could relive it! 🙂

Here’s another exchange:
@mpressel Doesn't seem like there is any video, shame. Did you carry it to the hole or run it on to the green?

Landed on the front and rolled about 20 ft into the hole https://t.co/Xcd7tTcLg6

We’re pretty bummed that there’s no video anywhere of Pressel’s albatross; it would have been cool to see. A few fans on Twitter were also unhappy they couldn’t check out a replay. ESPN has coverage all week long at Royal Turnberry. Second round coverage begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, and third and final round coverage starts at 10 a.m.
