Talk about going out with a bang.
On the final hole of Round 1 at the Quicken Loans National, Rickie Fowler hit a flush 7-iron from 184 yards that landed softly on the front left side of the green, and rolled right in for an ace.
Fowler started his round Thursday on the back nine, so the ace came on the par-3 9th hole. Fowler finished the day at 4-under (67)for the round. Watch the incredible shot here:

Fowler, 26, was very confident heading into this week’s action:
“I believe in myself and I know I’m one of the best players in the world,” he said. “[But] any guy on this range right now can go win this week. That’s how good the guys are. Everybody is here for a reason. Anyone that goes out and puts four rounds together has a chance to win. By no means do I think I can easily be in contention and have a chance. I have got to be on top of my game and take care of business.”
A shot like that sure is a heck of a way to get things going.
