Rory McIlroy takes a tumble. Again. Then, he walks on water.

We suspected that the terrain at Whistling Straits was a peril to Rory McIlroy’s recovering ankle and we weren’t far wrong. The Wisconsin course is infamously hilly and is often besieged by blustery gales. Rory discovered exactly how treacherous the course could be when he tried to clamber out of a bunker today.

Though there was a collective intake of breath all throughout, Rory’s ankle emerged unscathed and he managed to hit another shot into a lake right after. Again, all this was no impediment for McIlroy, who promptly chased his partially submerged ball into the water and knocked it straight back out.

He’s not going to let a little bit of turf defeat him this time. Or an entire lake, for that matter.
