While ultimately supportive of her superstar older brother, 14-year old Ellie Spieth is also a hard customer to please. Ellie was at Whistling Straits to watch her brother score the one-under 71 that just put him above rival Rory McIlroy on the scoreboard. According to Jordan, his sister expects nothing less of him.

“(Ellie) doesn’t really know the difference in a major or regular tournament. She only accepts me (if) I win. And if I don’t win, I better have something or take her shopping,” he quipped good-humoredly.

You see, Ellie’s autism contributes greatly to her confusion on the finer points in golf championships. Jordan’s famous humility is often attributed to his growing up with Ellie. Those shopping trips must have been expensive ones before his career took off.
