Golf fans are used to seeing Holly Sonders at some of the game’s biggest events, but Fox may be looking to transition her to a new position in sport.
Holly Sonders became a household name during a three-year spell with the Golf Channel before leaving for FOX in 2014 to work on the network’s golf coverage. As FOX has been universally slated for its coverage of golf this year, it is rumoured that Sonders has grown tired with the likes of Joe Buck and Greg Norman at the helm.
This weekend, Sonders will travel to Houston to cover the Buccaneers-Texans game as a sideline reporter for FOX. She will work alongside Kenny Albert and Daryl Johnston on the call. While no official announcement has been made about her future in golf, some are viewing this as a “trial run” as Sonders looks to move away from the stale golf coverage that FOX has been heavily criticised for.
