- Bill Haas remains in contention at Hero World Challenge thanks to insane shot.
- He destroyed a bush after refusing to take a penalty.
- The world is missing a bush, but who really cares? I don’t.
Bill Haas took a swipe at nature on Saturday afternoon in order to stay in contention at the Hero World Challenge. Known for his once-in-a-lifetime shot to win the TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup in 2011, Haas was back at it again at the tournament hosted by Tiger Woods.
The American stepped onto the tee of the par four 18th hole having strung together a four-under par round. He looked certain to drop a shot when his tee shot landed smack in the center of a bunker-based shrub. Instead of taking it on the chin like most golfers would, Haas decided to make mother nature angry.
With his options limited, Haas took a wedge and hacked the ball out, destroying the bush along the way. The result? An up-and down for a par 4 and a solid round of 68. Haas goes into Sunday four strokes off the lead held by Bubba Watson.
