- Rory McIlroy claimed he would win in a wrestling match with Jordan Spieth.
- Twitter responded and the people made it clear who they’d put their money on.
Rory McIlroy gave a tongue-in-cheek answer to a question put to him by a fan. The claim triggered a pointlessly entertaining debate on Twitter.
“Who would win in a wrestling match me or Jordan Spieth?” said the Northern Irishman before pausing a moment, “me obviously!” “Might not win the putting competition though,” he smiled.
Thanking my 1m fans!

Jordan Spieth’s comeback was all class as he silently retweeted a post from one of his fans…

The retweet/like test suggests that Spieth would come out on top, with 1,349 people backing him compared with just 378 votes for Rory. Looking at the two lined up it’s hard to see Rory with much of a chance. Spieth is 25 pounds (11 kgs) heavier and has almost 4 inches on the Ulsterman (behave). This video of Rory getting beaten by a 17-year-old really doesn’t help his cause.
But as we all know, it’s not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog. Rory’s power off the tee could translate into some less noticeable ferocity but what about Spieth’s athletic background?
I can’t help but feel Spieth’s ice cold demeanor could be hiding some seriously deep seated aggression. He could be like that placid kid in high school who lost their shit that one time. Perhaps Jordan was once nicknamed psycho after going crazy with someone for putting deep heat in his shower gel?
