Danny Welbeck managed an hour for the Arsenal Under-21’s making his first appearance in nearly a year. The England international striker has been missing-in-action since April 2015, but was showing youngsters a clean change of pace on Friday.
Welbeck was playing for Steve Gatting’s Arsenal U21’s against Brighton.
Welbeck was substituted after 60 minutes of the Under-21s fixture against Brighton, having sured up a 3-0 lead. Arsenal fans will be encouraged to see one of their few forwards stepping back onto the field. One thing is for sure, they’ll be hoping he can add some goals to Arsenal’s campaign before the end of the season.
