- Antoine Griezmann has reportedly told close friends that if he were to leave Atletico Madrid, he’d move to the Premier League
- Chelsea have long been linked with a move for the forward
- The Blues consider the French international as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard should the Belgium leave
Next stop, Premier League! Antoine Griezmann is coming to the top flight of English football, should he leave Atletico Madrid this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting that the forward has told close friends England is his preferred destination.
With Real Madrid, for some reason, still heavily linked with Eden ‘one goal this season against MK Dons’ Hazard, would Griezmann slot in nicely should the Belgium international head for Spain?
#FRESH
Chelsea’s season, although truly magical for everyone not associated with the club, has been embarrassingly woeful.
The players are clearly sick to their back teeth of one another, like a couple who stay together for convenience rather than for love.
They need a shake up and Griezmann would provide that fresh injection of excitement to a stale and bitter squad.
PEAK
Chelsea need to rebuild having savagely torn apart their spine of Petr Cech, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, like they were discarding that McDonalds double cheeseburger wrapper at 4am on a Saturday morning.
At 24, Griezmann has – rather worryingly for defenders – his peaks years still to come, so targeting players on the rise would be the correct thing for Allegri.
Whether the ‘new’ Chelsea will give players a chance to reach their peak, though, remains to be seen…
GOOD COP, BAD COP
Diego Costa would probably* punch you in the face if you said ‘good morning’ to him, whereas, Griezmann seems like the type of guy to bring a box of Krispy Kremes into the office on a Monday. The duo could form a decent double act.
