One golfer in particular wants to show the field what he is made of. Rickie Fowler is betting on himself making some noise this weekend. He is up against a tough field and he knows that, which only pushes him harder. Whenever there are so many good players in a tournament, you really feel the energy and healthy competition brewing between them. While everyone is looking at Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy to put up big numbers, Rickie is planning to be right there in the thick of things with similar results.

Fowler has been labelled the most obvious candidate to upset the so called “Big Three” of Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Rory McIlroy, the players currently placed one to three in the world.

The No. 5 in the world commented on the upcoming tournament saying, “I may not be ranked as high, but I’m close. A major would help become a solid part of the talk. But I look forward to going against those boys and having a good time. A lot of guys are playing well, but you look at some of the top guys in the world and they’re ready to go kind of beat up on each other. We’re all really good friends. It’s going to be an exciting year for golf.”

It’s great to see these young players have a camaraderie that goes deeper than just competition. They are all rooting for each other while bringing out their A-games, making this the most exciting year yet. Golf keeps getting better and better.

Cheers to the 2016 golf season!
