- Joel Matip currently plays for Bundesliga outfit Schalke
- The central defender is a free agent in the summer
- Liverpool are said to be close to announcing the capture of the defender
The Mirror are reporting that Jurgen Klopp is close to announcing his second signing as Liverpool gaffer, with Joel Matip set to arrive in the summer as a free agent.
Matip’s potential arrival will begin the start of the German’s defensive overhaul at Anfield, with Klopp no doubt considering whether to start the current-Schalke player between the sticks in order to get Mignolet as far away from the pitch as possible.
With Klopp sorting out the mess Brendan Rodgers made, how else will the former Borussia Dortmund manager go about sorting out the Reds leaky backline?
Bring Back Djimi Traore
The thoughts of a double act between Djimi and Kolo is all too much and just has to happen.
Liverpool fans would have to accept the rough with the smooth for their former cult hero, though…
Sign Steven Caulker on a permanent deal
Looking forward to the QPR defender’s ten-year spell on Anfield resulting in three substitute appearances, totalling four minutes.
Make Flani Alves Captain
