Robert Pires is the man to blame for the diving issue that constantly surrounds football, that is the opinion of philosopher – and former Premier League right-back – Danny Mills:
“I will always remember him as the player who, in my view, really brought diving into the English game; his habit of throwing himself to the ground without any provocation always infuriated me.”
Coincedentally, a lot of people in football blame Mills for the influx of footballers being pricks:
Mills, who somehow tricked his way into 19 different England XIs, has maintained his style of football when it comes to commentating, too; he goes in hard, he looks to upset the apple cart and likes to be brash.
You imagine that ol’ Millsy holds Matt Le Tissier responsible for the influx of French players in the Premier League, due to the fact the Southampton icon has ‘Le’ in his name.
Of course, everyone is entitled to an opinion because sadly that’s how they work, but next time you see Danny Mills out and about, be sure to give him Jurgen Klinsmann’s number.
