Arsenal are one of the richest clubs in the world, therefore, it makes sense that the Mirror are reporting that Arsene Wenger is keen on bringing a 34-year-old midfielder in on a free transfer.
The player in question is Manchester United’s, Michael Carrick.
Carrick has been an underrated influence during his time at Old Trafford, like the aglet on the end of your shoelace, once it has gone, there’s no chance you’re threading that through.
Wenger has been linked with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder on numerous occasions, but becoming the next Sol Campbell hate target for the Spurs fans wasn’t too high on Carrick’s agenda, you’d imagine.
Such a move is something that Le Professeur has pulled off in the past, with the loan signing of veteran Kim Kallstrom on deadline day of January 2014, with the Swede having a few key moments during his short stay.
So, what would Carrick bring?
Five Premier League titles and one Champions League means Carrick would help cut out shit like this from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Old people are always good for the toffee goodness.
Finding out about that time Wayne Rooney was ‘caught short’ or that Morgan Schneiderlin does a face pack every other day or even that Anthony Martial can’t go to sleep unless someone is stroking his head, is great ammunition when marking them at corners.
