The MLS is in full swing, with live action coming at you weekly. Here are a few matches from Week 2 to keep an eye on.
Real Salt Lake vs. Seattle Sounders
Saturday, March 12th at 1 PM (PST)
Seattle and Salt lake always finish near the top of the Western Conference. Though these two teams combined for a total of 1 point in Week 1, this Western Conference rivalry is always hard fought. The midfield battle between Seattle’s Ozzie Alonso and Salt Lake’s Kyle Beckerman is always something to watch. I have to think that Alonso would have gotten a look with the USMNT by now if his paperwork were in order.
New York City vs. Toronto FC
Sunday, March 13th at 2 PM
The stars are will collide in this Eastern Conference clash. New York City boasts three bonafide international stars in Andrea Pirlo, David Villa, and Frank Lampard. I scored goals with all of those players in FIFA ’12. Toronto has a high paid, high powered Big 3 of their own in Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore, and Michael Bradley. We’ll see what that big money is really worth on match day this Sunday.

San Jose vs. Portland Timbers
Sunday, March 13th at 4 PM
Both teams will be looking to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Timbers are still riding high after winning the MLS Cup last year, bringing great shame to their Cascadia rivals. San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski has a good head on his shoulders and a nose for goal. If Portland wants to stay unbeaten, they’ll have to keep an eye on Wondo.
