Remember when Rickie Fowler tackled his partner at the WGC-Dell Match Play? We do.
The WGC-Dell Match Play is difficult for the pros because they are used competing against themselves to make the cut, not against one opponent. It’s great practice for the Ryder Cup and the Olympics, where match play is the format. Some pros take it more seriously than others and Rickie Fowler is not one of those.
Rickie Fowler was partnered with Jason Dufner the first round, where Dufner came out victorious. Dufner trolled Fowler when he hit his drive a good distance past his and flexed his muscles.

What’s great is Rickie is smiling away and was probably goading Duf from the get go, creating this reaction in the first place. Rickie is one of the pro’s that an average golfer would probably want to play with. He never takes the game too seriously, except when he has to, and goofs off regularly with the people in his group.
For the second round Fowler was matched with Scott Piercy and there were definite shenanigans going on between those two. They ended the round in a tie but not before Fowler tackled Piercy at the tee box.
“He tackled me on 13 tee. Kicked the bag out from under me.” ????

Rickie makes the game more enjoyable, for himself and for other pro’s. Why wouldn’t they want to be partnered with him? This could be the year that Rickie wins his first major and then he would be considered the ultimate pro. Fun, relaxed, Tour and Major winner, and growing the game every day just by being himself.
Dick Fowler, P.I. bought to steal the game.
