If you thought David Feherty could not possibly be more suave, you’ll be throwing your metaphorical panties at him after watching him decimate that infamous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass like it’s NBD. Golf’s cheekiest commentator took on the challenging par-3 hole, managing to strike¬†very¬†close to the mark and finish with a birdie.

For some background, the hole is one of the most notorious in golf even though it’s the shortest in the whole course. The minuscule distance from the putting green to the end goal may be deceptively small, but the hole is positioned dramatically in the midst of an island in the middle of a water hazard. Play your cards right and you might just end up with a birdie, but misaim a little and you’re headed for double bogey hell.

It looks like David Feherty, despite never having competed with the people he relentlessly analyzes, was never in danger of any such thing. Here’s an anchorman who can actually play the game he talks about. A rare bird, to be sure.
