Manchester United haven’t given up on signing former Benfica starlet, Renato Sanches, despite the fact the midfielder has, today, been confirmed as a Bayern Munich player.
Ed Woodward was seen frantically leaving Old Trafford an hour or so ago with his passport in hand, wearing a Benfica shirt with ‘Woody’ on the back and reading a Lonely Planet guide to Lisbon.
Reports had suggested that the Red Devils had been quoted between €60-80million in order to sign the promising midfielder. However, it is now believed Woodward is willing to offer €100million and David de Gea in order to sign Sanches who has already joined Bayern Munich for €35million.
It hasn’t yet been revealed which player will be next to use Manchester United in order to secure a more favourable – and profitable – move to a bigger club.
