Rickie Fowler had one of the best, if not THE best, finishes in golf history at the Players Championship last year.
Rickie Fowler wen’t birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie to force a playoff with Kevin Kisner and Sergio Garcia that final day. 6-under in the last 6 holes he played. That was just pure magic and unbelievable to watch.
Then he battled it out during the playoff, creating a sudden-death round against Kisner after Garcia couldn’t par the 18th hole. Rickie birdied the infamous 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass three times that day, the last time to take home the win.
Not only was this the best finish in the Players history, it was a finish that Rickie Fowler needed. This win crushed all of the “underrated” chatter and showed his sponsors that he was worth the endorsements, after only one PGA Tour win until that moment.
Rickie has since then broken up with his girlfriend, had two more tour victories, got an arm tattoo for his grandfather and created the incredible “dad bod squad”. This guy is my hero. He is revolutionizing a sport by going against the grain and taking a more laid back style to the game, which he’s been doing from the start. Only now he’s bringing more tour players to his level and making having fun on the course the norm, even if you’re a professional.
From his bright colors and snapbacks to his incredibly powerful swing, Rickie Fowler is by far one of the best golfers for the game.
