Sir Alex Ferguson for all his successes, the former Manchester United manager had a lot of failures. And none were bigger than allowing Paul Pogba to leave Old Trafford.
A lack of playing time and a contract dispute saw the Frenchman head for Italy with Juventus, and Francei international is now the pin-up boy for midfielders.
The Red Devils dream of the day that Pogba is pulling the strings with Ravel Morrison (?) in the middle of the park. However, until that magical day, they will just have to admire the midfielder from afar.
And boy, what a player to admire; he really does have it all in his locker. The assist for Olivier Giroud was the icing on the cake for a player who will one day surely win the Ballon d’Or(?).
An assist, though, is of course only top notch if the finish is there, and my word, the Arsenal striker duly obliged with an impeccable strike – not that the volley received the credit it deserved because, you know, it’s not fashionable to praise Giroud.
