Don’t avert your eyes.
Since Ibrahimovic announced he would not return to PSG next year, he’s been linked with a move to every major club on the planet.
But Manchester United have won the Ibra lottery.
He reportedly turned down a $50 million dollar offer to play in China next year because he wants to play Champions League soccer. Power to him.
The 34-year-old Swedish striker is set to become a free agent when his contract with PSG expires this summer, however, he has been colluding with Manchester United and incoming manager Jose Mourinho since March about how to make the deal go through.
Ibrahimovic won a Serie A title under Mourinho with Inter Milan back in 2009, so the two are well acquainted.
While specifics of the deal haven’t been released, it’s been alleged that contractual issues on Ibrahimovic’s end have held up talks for the past several weeks. Now that those have been addressed and all parties are ready to move forward, Ibra is set to join Manchester United once the Euro 2016 concludes.
With Sweden still fighting to get out of their group, Zlatan better come ready to play. He caused Ireland to score an own goal on themselves (typical Zlatan) in Sweden’s first game.
But the Swedes will have their work cut out for them if they’re gonna get to the knockout round. There are no schlumps in their group; Italy, Belgium, and Ireland are all quality.
Well, except Belgium.
