Rooney and Rashford have fallen out over a reportedly stolen item

What a difference 270 minutes of football makes. After months of Wayne Rooney being made into the post-tournament scapegoat, well in advance of England’s ultimate failure in France, the Manchester United captain is now the midfield marvel the Three Lions can’t live without.

The English fans have rekindled their relationship with the country’s all-time leading goalscorer, after enjoying Roo’s ability to find a full-back in acres of space when he’s under no pressure in the middle of the park.

Roy Hodgson will be bringing Rooney back for the game against Iceland, having achieved in already cocking up England’s tournament by resting the former Everton teenager against Slovakia, resulting in the Three Lions finishing second in their group.

Rooney has clearly welcomed the opportunity for a some rest, though, with the former Everton teenager deciding to take a bit of ‘me’ time and go out exploring, taking in the French culture – and stealing Marcus Rashford’s bike along the way.

Rumour has it, Roo believes french fries in France taste a lot better than back at home…
