LA Galaxy Must Address Elephant In The Room Or Miss Playoffs

Ethan Tait

Los Angeles. The city everyone loves to hate, especially when it comes to sports.

They are hated for the simple reason that they win games and titles and do it with such pomp.

So, the LA Galaxy fit right into the scheme of winning titles, big signings, and playing entertaining soccer.

Cobi Jones, Landon Donovan, and David Beckham molded the team into a team that consistently won games.

Other stars followed Beckham to Los Angeles like Nigel de Jong and Steven Gerrard, but have failed to produce anything, but rash tackles and the last second pulls from the team sheet.

Why are you teasing, Stevie G?

With Gyasi Zardes and Robbie Keane away on national team duty, the Galaxy look more like a team bound for relegation…oh wait, it’s America and relegation doesn’t exist.

So, missing out on the playoffs?

The Galaxy should be challenging for the title every single year and shouldn’t be dropping points to Drogba United and Giovinco FC.

Bigger issues can be addressed, like the scheduling of MLS and how it overlaps with every big summer tournament, but the MLS is far too stubborn to do much about that.

The Galaxy need to look for younger talent quickly to plug the holes in the squad when the bigger names are away on national team duty because Stevie G is one expensive bench warmer.

Being an Arsenal fan is as difficult as hell waiting for a league title and the Galaxy filled that void in my life for so long. Humor me and try to be consistent.

Change that. Please and thank you.
