The smooth swinging South African knows a thing or two about slotting aces at major championships. His ace at this year’s Masters did the rounds when it was mixed with a a Spanish commentator’s GOALLLLLL.
Earlier in the day Patrick Reed holed out from distance to get the first eagle of the Championship. Bubba Watson nailed a 377-yard drive to green the “undrivable” par-three third hole. He started with five birdies in seven holes but was quickly brought back to earth with a triple-bogey on the 8th. He found the bunker on the famous Postage Stamp hole – scene of the crime for Rory McIlroy’s embarrassing six-shot saga.
