It’s never nice when a footballer is forced to retire, especially at an early age, when the footballing world is at their feet.
Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez had been away with Colombia in America for this summer’s Copa America tournament, however, we are sad to report that the former AS Monaco forward will never play football again following an encounter with Chile’s, Alexis Sanchez.
Pour ceux qui dormaient cette nuit, je vous propose un replay du raffut d'Alexis Sanchez sur James Rodriguez !

Arsenal’s Chilean sensation, Alexis Sanchez, brutally embarrassed the Colombian attacker, so much so that Ham-Ez can’t possibly play football again.
The tragic stumble of Rodriguez – was he fouled?? – deserves the slow-mo and Titanic music over the top treatment – can someone do that for us, please?
Even more sadly for the former Porto attacker, is that his fall is reminiscent of the pathetic tumble from referee, Paul Alcock, when Paolo Di Canio gave him a push.
Following Colombia’s exit and the ending of his career, Rodriguez called a quick press conference to confirm the decision and his reasoning:
“I feel as embarrassed as those ‘leave’ voters in the United Kingdom, who didn’t think their vote would matter, and now wished they had voted to ‘remain.”
